About Eroga...

EROGA was set up in 1991 to help fund projects at Roma Girls Secondary School and to keep former students in touch with each other and activities at the school. Since its formation EROGA has grown in strength and numbers, with members involved in a number of projects to help their former school and current students. EROGA is active across the globe in Zambia, S.Africa, UK and USA with members actively in touch through a centrally managed email distribution service.Photograph of EROGAN's at a gathering in London 2005 EROGA members (or EROGAN's as we sometimes call ourselves) keep actively in touch by email thanks to the commitment of Mwangala Muyoyeta. Past and current news and memories are shared in an atmosphere of sisterhood despite the years and distance between us.

About Roma ...

Roma Girls Secondary School is a Catholic Girls School based in Lusaka, Zambia. Founded in 1953 by the Sisters of Charity, at a time when the education of girls was not the done thing. Girls were to be married and have children and be wives! The sisters set out to fight this, against all odds and since then the school has produced successful professional women located across the globe in Africa, Europe and America. Up until recently Roma Girls was mainly a boarding school with a small number of day scholars. Today the school runs as a day school having converted former dormitories into much needed classrooms. Running the school continues to be a huge struggle even today, due to many barriers- poverty being the biggest. In spite of all this the spirit and dedication of the Sisters of Charity keeps the school going.
